Hi, my name is Julia; I just passed my practical test under the training of Ian of Larkin’s Learners.
ReplyDeleteWhen I started training with Ian I could not maintain the car in lane leave alone getting to a speed of 30mphr. However, Ian was patient with me and simplified the techniques that I found hard until they were no longer difficult to tackle.
Ian treats each one of his learners as individuals, I know this because some of my friends train with him and they give comments on his training skills, also considering that my friends and I are different; but each says Ian understands what they need in training. In other words, Ian is patient with those who are slow at learning, he encourages the scared and he gives a chance to those who thinks they can make it. He is the ideal instructor that any learner would wish for.
In one word I would describe the training at Larkin's Learners Driving School as “FUN”

ReplyDeleteI passed my practical test first time under the training of Ian in July 2008.
When I first started lessons with Ian I had a fear of going over 25mph :-).
But with Ian's patient manner he managed to get me out of "granny mode".
His simply techniques to use while doing manoeuvers made them so much simpler and manageable.
Ian realized very quickly which learning method I found easier, and put me at ease on that first lesson that seemed so terrifying before hand.
I would definitely recommend Ian to anyone who wants to learn to drive He is an EXCELLANT INSTRUCTOR !!

ReplyDeleteAbout 6 months back I was introduced to Ian Larkin, And now I'm driving!
Ian's approach was PROFESSIONAL, POSITIVE and VERY LAID BACK, with a sense of humour for good measure, it made the whole learning process easy to adapt to and a pleasure.
He guided me through at a steady pace and my confidence with driving increased every week.
I would highly recommend Ian, for those thinking of taking on driving lessons.

ReplyDeleteAbout 2 months ago i passed my practical test under the training of Ian.
I remember my first lesson with Ian, i was a barrel of nerves, but with his great sense of humour, patience and calm manner i was soon at ease in the drivers seat!
As everyone will find out when learning to drive, there are always parts of it that will be hard, but Ian made this much easier for me. I had so much fun on my lessons, and we always had laughs. The more comfortable you are the better you will learn, and i enjoyed every minute of it.
I would strongly recommend Ian to anyone considering learning to drive.

ReplyDeletewell what can i say about, DONT GO WITH HIM lol.Nah dont listen to that hes a great driving instructor. hes not just your instructor hes a fried to and you can have some giggles with him whilst learning how to drive.as katy said in the last comment the more fun you have the more you learn. HE DOESNT TAKE YOU FOR GRANTED AND DOES NOT LIE LIKE SOME DO. MONEY IS NOT THE THING IN HIS MIND ITS GETTING PEOPLE TO PASS!!!
I very much recommend him, dont go for cheapest one, actually i think hes one of the cheapest anyway but hey go with ian.

Hi my names tracy, and i would definatley recommend Ian (Larkins Learners)to anyone. I first started with another driving instructor but did not give me any confidence and kept moving my lessons so i got in touch with Ian and he was brilliant and i passed the first time with only 3 minors. Could not have done it with out Ian

Hi my names Keri. I Learnt with Ian for about 5 months. Throughout them months Ian helped me with my fears of country roads and improved my driving loads! My lessons were always fun and we always had a laugh! He stayed so calm the whole time even when i drove up the wrong side of the road. I passed my test first time with just 5 minors. I could not have done it without Ian. I recommend Ian to anyone who is looking for a driving instructor. Thanks Ian i will miss my driving lessons with you!
ReplyDeleteheya i am lin. i am currently learning with ian at the moment. i love all my driving lessons, ian makes me feel so much better when i drive as he makes everythin seem so easy. me and ian always have jokes everytime i have my lessons lol i would love to have a tom tom with ians voice inputted in though. one thing i feel so bad is when i make loads of stupid voice when i am driving or when he asks me to go somewhere i just do the total opposite opps hehe i recommend anyone to learn with ian!!
ReplyDeletehi, my name is niki and there is no way i would have passed if it wasnt for ian. when i 1st started learning to drive i did not have a clue, well to cut a lond story short i passed within 11 months. Ian is the best driving instuctor EVER!! i would reccomend ian to any1,he also helped about 4 of my friends pass and i no they couldnt have done it without him!!! im so pleased that i went with ian as i really dont think i would be driving now if i hadnt. So 2 any1 reading this that is wondering wether to book him or not, DO IT im promising u wont regret it!!

Hey, my name is Bernie and as we all know driving in UK is not as easy as many people imagine but i will tell you something, Ian will DEFINITELY make it as easier and possible as u can imagine, Ian is not just an instructor but a FRIEND, u feel more comfortable and supported with him, HE GIVES YOU THE ENCOURAGEMENT U NEED, even if you are starting from scratch, it does not matter coz his PATIENCE AND PASSION about being an instructor will DRIVE YOU. With Ian its not about money or business but it is about helping you achieve set goals, which is passing your test.
ReplyDeleteIan im ever so so so GRATEFUL, It was a PLEASURE to have you as my instructor. If you want to pass your Driving test with confidence, Ian is the right person otherwise some pple or driving schools will make you pay thousands just for your lessons before you pass your test.

You couldn't ask for a better instructor than Ian. I would never of passed first time if it wasn't for him. He makes driving seem so easy and will not take money from you for the sake of it. When I didn't need any more lessons he told me and left me to go out in my own car before my test so technically I saved money where as other instrusctors will carry on doing lessons in order to keep getting paid. Not Ian, he makes sure your comfortable every lesson unlike other drivers who just want there money; Ian cares that you pass your test first time.

Many thanks to Ian for being such a great teacher and instructor for the last 3 months. Now that I passed first time my driving practical exam on thirsday,24th of June 2010 I am really proud to say that it was Ian who tought me all the skills needed for safe driving. Also coming from Eastern Europe where the cars drive on the other side of the road it was a great achivement for me to stick to the correct side of the road in England. But my learning is not finished yet. I will continue with Ian with the improving of all the skills learned by taking a Pass Plus course soon. Ludmila Stephens

He's pretty laid back which rubs off on the student and gets rid of any driving nerves they may have, I'd definately recommend him to anyone.

ReplyDeleteHe is a great driving instructor and gave me real confidence with my driving, considering I had to go for a "practice drive" around my housing estate before every lesson, as I was too scared of the "real" roads!
Ian has also passed one of my friends and I recommend him to anyone wishing to learn to drive, as he is a very patient and understanding instructor as well as being a good laugh!
Ian has some great deals with his lessons and I have saved a lot of money through learning to drive with him.

I was recommended by someone who passed her test a few years ago with Ian, and me and my parents haven't been anything less than impressed with Ian's teaching. Many of my friends have passed first time with Ian, and I passed today first time! He is very patient, understanding and makes many of the manoeuvres much simpler than they seem. I'd be happy to recommend him to anyone who asks, as he is a great instructor and really helped me to become a more confident driver.

My new hero! He took a basket case who's had 3 other driving instructors and turned me into a driver that passed first time! Thank you Ian, you made me feel that I could do it (5 weeks from my 40th birthday) can't thank you enough, I feel like a different person. Looking forward to my motorway lesson next week.

He is also a really easy going and genuinely nice guy, which makes the lessons comfortable and enjoyable-it was fun to learn. (much better than school teachers) I would recommend Ian to anyone wanting to learn to drive properly, you don't just learn how to pass a test.

Ian is an incredible instructor, I passed first time 23/06/15 due to his supportive and patient attitude towards teaching me to drive. Ian isn't only great at teaching people to drive, he also has a great sense of humour and is fun to talk to. I felt instantly comfortable with Ian as my instructor as he's always so calm and understanding, he's made learning to drive a fun experience to say the least 😊. With Ian as your instructor you will 100% get your money's worth, he's honest and would never charge you for more lessons than you need, he's also really helpful when it comes to theory stuff as well 😊.
